There is no dictionary definition of haiku. Connotationally, in English haiku have been published containing 1-to-over 27 syllables, though the median is around 12. Lineation can also vary. Important attributes are disjunction, extreme concision, omission, and ambiguity regarding (singular) meaning or interpretation.
